Legislative Annexation Expands Semmes Corporate Limits

Up until now, many of the businesses that we consider Semmes in the area of Schillinger Rd. and Moffett Rd., were not in the corporate limits of the City. Recently, Mayor Van Hook had a legislative annexation bill taken before the Senate and House of Representatives to bring in many of these businesses into our corporate limits. The bill was sponsored by Senator Jack Williams and passed both the Senate, the House and signed by Governor Kay Ivey. The Bill will take effect October 1, 2024, annexing the properties listed below (Not within the Green highlighted area). We are excited to announce that this Legislative Bill is expected to bring an additional estimated yearly revenue of $750,000 to the City of Semmes.
