Effective May 1st, 2026, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) will implement an annual open burn ban from May 1st through October 31st in 12 Alabama counties, including Mobile County, to reduce air pollution and ozone formation. The ban prohibits burning yard waste, brush, land-clearing debris, and household garbage.
