Semmes Camellia Maids are ambassadors who strive to cultivate the rich heritage and promising future of the city. They provide southern hospitality while building strong relationships, encouraging investment within the city, and providing a sense of unity, welcome, and community pride to those who call Semmes home.

The City of Semmes takes applications for new Camellia Maids in August with interviews being held in September. 

Semmes Camellia Maids make appearances at City of Semmes events and others where they have been requested throughout Mobile County. There, they add delight as they welcome and communicate with the public, hand out material, serve as a guide for information, and provide a wide variety of other volunteer services. Camellia Maids appearances may also include hosting and/ or coordinating awareness campaigns and donation drives.
