Heritage Park was founded to preserve the early historic landmarks of the City of Semmes.

Several other structures have a home at Heritage Park. The Malone Chapel is a replica of Mt. Pleasant Church which was originally located here. A small cabin depicts home life from many years ago. The McCrary Store is the newest addition to the park and represents an old store originally in Semmes.

In 2022, Semmes Heritage Park became a City Park at the request of Alumni & Friends of Semmes School, Inc. The City of Semmes continues to preserve and maintain the park as well as hold several annual events there. The events include Heritage Day and Old Fashioned Christmas and are intended to remember our history.
